Project-Management
I have been pondering general management methods, styles, and reflecting on my past management skills and styles. I thought the IT Leadership program I participated in at the Leavey School of Business Santa Clara University in 2000; this is when I became acutely aware of thinking styles and how we adapt them to the task at hand. In the past during my younger years I felt I was an idealist, and as I matured I noticed how my style showed traits of pragmatic and analytic. I see how I am a realist knowing that my style changes; aware those I work with have style that also change.
Project management comes in all types of forms; information technology and web development are the most obvious. Great project management skills transcend business groups, departments of all types of organizations, from construction to NASA.
For the last two years each weekend I am involved with a different type of project management restoring a classic General Motors 1968 Pontiac Firebird, which is a rare bird indeed - matching numbers, original owner, 3 speed manual six cylinder overhead cam.
